21 DAYS OF
PRAYER & FASTING

SEEKING VISION FOR OUR CHURCH

We are a church that believes in the 'priesthood of all believers' – we all have the ability to hear from God to discern His will for our community and organisation.​

​

Therefore, we are calling MCBC to 21 days of prayer & fasting. 

​

We are excited to hear from the Lord as we plan for 2026 so we will have prayer points for each day, as well as prayer meetings every Wednesday and Sunday evenings that we would love you to come along to.

​

The questions we will be asking:

  1. What is God's heart for our church, the wider community etc?

  2. Based on that, what is MCBC's role in serving that?

  3. What is my [as an individual or family's] role in that?​

​

Ideas for fasting

Firstly, ask the Lord what he thinks you should give up.

Otherwise here are some ideas:

​

Food: 

  • Your favourite food 

  • All sugar, coffee, dairy products , fast food or meat

  • Products made with flour

  • Daniel fast: Only eating fruit, veg, whole grains, nuts and water 

  • Fast 12 or 24 hours one day each week 

  • Fast from sunrise to sunset or vice versa 

  • Skip a meal each day 

 

Non Food ideas: 

  • Social Media, TV, streaming etc

  • Gaming 

  • Shopping

  • Your favourite things

  • An hour of sleep i.e. waking up earlier to pray or at a time in the night like 3am

It's very important that if you have any health issues or have experienced concerns with food or eating habits, we strongly recommend talking with your health professional first before starting a food fast or better, choose a non food option. 

​

Please look after yourself while fasting. There are medical benefits to letting your body rest from food, but do it wisely.
