SENIORS
MCBC Seniors are a faith community passionate about positive aging in body, soul and spirit, and our activities together revolve around those themes such as:

Overcoming loneliness

Finding community and building relationships

How to deal with health and financial issues

Cultivating a vibrant spirituality and mental health in the later years

Ways to prevent and identify elder abuse and protocols of response

Assisting others to find meaning and purpose in life

Discovering and sharpening our gifts and experiences, and where we can volunteer to serve the wider community.

Passing on life wisdom and making inter-generational life contributions to the next generations

To mobilize baby boomers for voluntary mission engagement and projects- both in NZ and around the world.
Who is welcome? Those aged 65+ but open to others who are available during the day and looking for community.
Weekly Activities:
Tuesdays
10:30am-12pm — Standing Stronger Together Men's life group
1-3pm — Bowls
Fridays
9-10am — Steady as You Go exercise group run in partnership with Age Concern.

Monthly Activities:
1st Friday of the month
10am-12pm — Come Walking: local walking trips to discover and appreciate the wide diversity of life and community organizations in South Auckland.
2nd Friday of the month
10:30-11:45am — Chapel services: all welcome for spiritual inspiration and encouragement.
3rd Friday of the month
10-11:30am — Life Skills workshops: Lifelong learning keeps us young in heart and mind, plus learn new skills to engage with modern living. Examples are Nutrition for Seniors, Tech skills for seniors, how to avoid scams, improving your sleeping, how to plan one's retirement, etc.
4th Friday of the month
10am-12pm — Super Friday: A collection of fun activities that encourage play, creativity, and friendships! Board Games, Book Club, Bowls, followed by a community chat of interest to seniors - plus an afforable lunch.
